Clean has been chosen for a highly coveted honour: in May, it will be a "Book of the Week" on BBC Radio 4, and excerpts read by an actor will be broadcast twice a day during the week.

The Dirt on Clean was chosen by the New York Public Library as one of their annual list, "25 Books to Remember from 2007."

Katherine Ashenburg was a finalist in the $15,000 Nereus Writers' Trust Non-Fiction Prize 2007.

The Book-of-the-Month Club and Quality Paperback Book Clubs in the U.S. offered The Dirt on Clean as an Alternate Selection in January 2008.

International Editions

The Dirt on Clean will be published in Britain in March 2008 and in Australia and New Zealand on May 9, 2008, by Profile Books (the prizewinning English publishers who brought you Eats, Shoots & Leaves).

The Dirt on Clean will also be published in Brazil, Japan and Poland.

The Portuguese word for "clean" is limpo (think "limpid"). The Dirt on Clean's first foreign-language publication will be in Portuguese, from Larousse in Brazil.

An interview with NPR's "Weekend All Things Considered" aired on November 18, with an excerpt and photos online: www.npr.com. The producers are planning on making Katherine a regular commentator.
